A Different Drummer?  Restore a Truck!

Phyllis Baynes - Truck Restoration

Phyllis Baynes – Truck Restoration

Restoring an automobile has long been a favorite pastime for a great many car enthusiasts but to attempt to restore a truck to its original condition for the select few. To tackle a large 1990 Peterbilt is probably a rare undertaking. Phyllis’ brother, Eric Gilley, is responsible for the finished product and Phyllis for the decision to photograph the Peterbilt in front of the Ashe County Court House, late on a sunny, golden afternoon. “I am very proud of my brother and his talent to be able to take an old truck and restore it to such beauty.”

Devil’s Signature Over Mount Holly?

Lou Nachman - Mt. Holly Contrails

Lou Nachman – Mt. Holly Contrails

Lou Nachman makes his debut appearance in this series with a dramatic sunset image captured in the skies over Mt. Holly, in Gaston County, northwest of Charlotte. The contrast between the darkening earth and brilliant sky serves to bring these artificial clouds into sharp relief. With the strong winds aloft, it was only a short time before the pattern became a memory. Lou utilized a 4 times neutral density filter to help balance the overall density of the scene but even with that, the foreground remains a silhouette. The high cloud formations add the perfect finishing touch.
