A Different Drummer? Restore a Truck!
Restoring an automobile has long been a favorite pastime for a great many car enthusiasts but to attempt to restore a truck to its original condition for the select few. To tackle a large 1990 Peterbilt is probably a rare undertaking. Phyllis’ brother, Eric Gilley, is responsible for the finished product and Phyllis for the decision to photograph the Peterbilt in front of the Ashe County Court House, late on a sunny, golden afternoon. “I am very proud of my brother and his talent to be able to take an old truck and restore it to such beauty.”Pentax K-5

Great image! I saw this truck picking up a trailer yesterday and was in awe…I just had to sit and stare.
Great job by you and Eric..please tell him.
Lovely Truck!!! Pleasant arrangement.
Also shows how well heavy duty can relate to a bit of gentle plant life that has been included..
Playing strength with strength sometimes diminishes the desired effect. Personally, I find the Courthouse a trifle dominant for the subject, having the effect of shrinking the vehicle. I started imagining other options that might set it off? How about coaxing complementary components against the classic Redneck joke – except this time;
“Mowed my lawn and found my truck”
Some long exaggerated grasses and bamboo canes in the background, a manicured lawn in the foreground borrowed from the golf course and a slight touch of photoshop! Some great settings for it here in the low country, right now. Well ….. just a thought ……
Very good Phyllis!
A Pentaxian rules. Great Work Phyllis!
Very nice, Phyllis!
wonderful capture … beautiful golden colors .. and I love how she captured the flags unfurled
