28 * Daniel Boone GardensDaniel Boone Gardens
Time: 9:00 am
The Daniel Boone Native Gardens is hosting the 2nd annual Flower Photo Stroll from 9am-12pm. The event is designed to help novice photographers capture better images of plants and flowers anywhere. The general approach is not technical and requires no special equipment, but is based on tricks and techniques that will improve anyone's flower pictures. Quality photographs can be captured with any camera.
The event is free and attendees are encouraged to be at the DBNG gates at 9am to hear an introductory talk and receive instructions by local photographer Bill Barbour.
Wear comfortable clothes appropriate for the weather and bring whatever camera (or even phone) that you currently use. Volunteer accomplished photographers and naturalists will be on hand to assist. Participants will have the opportunity to submit several photos from the day in the garden and they will be printed and displayed at the Horticultural Symposium on June 7th at Appalachian State University. There they will be judged and the winning entries will earn prizes to be determined.
Bill Barbour will make a presentation to the club at its May 26th meeting regarding the Flower Stroll. You can get more information at that time or you can call Bill at 828-266-3288.
