This is Where We Live!

The beautiful mountains of NW North Carolina is home to most of us and for others a summertime place, a cool spot to escape the flatland’s heat and enjoy the slower pace of Ashe County. There are certainly higher mountains and there are newer mountains but where else is the overall view more lovely.

Beth captured this scene on a late afternoon of early August, 2008. There must have been a recent rain storm to produce the valley fog and the cumulous cloud in the distance indicates another may be on the way. The afternoon light, the clouds and the sun peeking through clear air produced one of those scenes that demands to be photographed.
